Lost Vegas
I couldn't imagine a better circumstance for writing about Intebike than my present drug induced, post surgery haze.
Before a sloppy re-telling of what happened in Vegas, here's some good news:
Tony's son, Seth, rode his bike for the first time without training wheels, so that's big news!
Also, Ian Brown finished well enough on his Tonic at the first UCI cross race in Michigan to earn some UCI points, so he should be stoked on that.
Finally, an invite only bowl jam is scheduled for the end of October. 10-15 riders, one bowl, many hips, and it should be a good time. I hope I can attend without crutches. Guy and Billy have been absolutely destroying this place! This will be filmed, and should be available to those interested in watching. The location is private, and its' simply not big enough to accomodate a large group.
On to Vegas...
We got to ride at the Outdoor Demo day which, in my opinion, is the best part of this whole thing. The terrain was technical and slippery and filled with sharp rocks. Good for a few loops, but with a lot of XC riding under my belt already, I mostly just rode the BMX track. Which unfortunately was also slippery and filled with sharp rocks, but challenging, and I dug it.
Something that was worth the hassle of bringing to vegas was a personal bike.
Having our bikes let us explore the city, and made this trip a million times more interesting. A trip to old town turned into an adventure, as did everywhere we went.

"Can do" attittude!

Our bikes locked outside of the AtomLab premier. Really good video, and rowdy evening.
Having a bike in Vegas made it interesting. Here are a few more random shots.

Riding around Vegas isn't easy. There's enough broken glass on the ground to make flats un avoidable. Another thing that's unavoidable are the characters you'll meet. Like Mark Mulville..or this guy, 18 beers into his Friday night.
We managed to find some fun street stuff along the way. Lots of drainage ditches in this city. If you could stand the smell..
We managed to make it to the Kona IMBA bowling fundraiser. They where cutting off hair as a part of the fund raiser, so I thought, why not? Unfortunately my mop wasn't sufficiently lengthy for their needs. Maybe next year.
Going to the show, after show parties, and riding around was exhausting. I doubt I'd ever go to Vegas except for this trade show. And for a trade show, I think it's a good time.
