The Full. The Fun. The Full of Fun

A friend pays a visit, a new Fall Guy color, some riding, some Loco Chips, Charlie finds his dream car, and a link to a Japanese guy's website.

Bi-Lingual enthnobotanist, and international sensation, Megan, graced us with her company while en route to Mexico for research. While her Masters degree has nothing to do with high fashion, who could live in Europe without picking up a few moves?RunwaysofLondon.JPG , RunwaysofParis.JPG.

Fortunately her exposure to the world of ridiculous fashion and sensible cars hasn't reduced her ability to really crank it out on the bike (we started at the water below).Up.JPG ,Done.JPG ?

What else? Some decent weather equals chances to go riding. The usual spots, plus a new one. Here are a few dirt shots (thanks to PFunk for the photos) : AnotherTable.JPG , transfer.JPG ,
FrameShot.JPG . The Grotto attracts some really neat people. Like this couple: PrisonLove.JPG Ryan brought his freshly built Brown Fall Guy out.. Brown.JPG Brown could very well become a stock color. Another alternative to black for people who want darker color bikes. Speaking of finishes, Charlie's done quite a job with stickering his Fall Guy: Stuck.JPG Speaking of Charlie, he has finally found his dream car: DreamCar.JPG

Probably the most freightening thing Tony did all week was attempt to eat a plate of "Loco Chips." Every HMO should ask; " Have you eaten Loco Chips in the past 5 years? " Call911.JPG

In other Tony news, we took a trip to Salem to ride the indoor park, and stopped at an outdoor park along the way. This little park was LOADS of fun. We met this character here, pure "NW" style. Slam Bars, flannel, and rides really well. 360 transfer. .NW.JPG Speaking of 3's he was riding a new Fit Series 3 Aiken...awesome bike. Tony really had a good time riding this place...Hipper.JPG . Fun park, endless lines.

One last link. This is the website of a Japanese Fellow who bought a Fall Guy and has been steadily updating it. http://68060.fc2web.com/mtb/mtb.html

But it's not all just riding trips. There are some pretty cool things on the horizon at Tonic. Stay tuned. Truth.JPG

Peace Out,

Landon.

The Missing Link, Found

A bit of road trip, some riding, some Fall Guys (shipped), and the "missing link"

First up was a trip to Bellingham for some good old fashion mountain biking. Raya and I picked up a friend in Seattle, Christine ,(current fastest North American Woman Bike Messenger, although not currently a messenger) and headed North.

Bellingham is a beautiful place with friendly people. I'd recommend to anyone looking for some good times. Timeout%20029.JPG
Unfortunately, arcing down twisty singletrack wasn't enough to shake the "missing link" from my head....Timeout%20033.JPG Ahhhh!
Met up with another friend, Cara, in Seattle on my way home, and rode at the Greenlake jumps, which was a little frightening with all the wind... Cara's got a cool house in the works: Timeout%20035.JPG

Returned to PDX. Tony and I applied the new stickers and shipped Fall Guys. If you are reading this, and had been waiting for a Fall Guy...sorry for the delay. I really like this new sticker:

Speaking of Fall Guys. Hcor.net reviewed one here: http://www.hcor.net/article427.html

The weather held up and we decided to do a little street riding. Tony's really getting his "Dizz Hicks" style dialed in..
Timeout%20039.JPG

We also encountered something that looked like it was fresh out of a mad max film, rather than the streets of Portland....keen eyes will find the Spa and Sand Rail frame.Timeout%20046.JPG

I think I enjoy the discovery and adventure of street, more so than the actual riding than it presents.

We decided to ride at Burnside the next morning. This was good. Burnside always impresses me with it's infinite possiblilities. Not that I'm good enough to take advantage of much...As we where leaving, Burnside local, "Twin Fin" arrived and demonstrated the potential of the place. He is simply amazing to watch. Photos don't do this guy's riding justice.

Anyway, here are a few photos of Tony and I cruising around the park:

Timeout%20032.JPG : Me. This is my favorite feature at the park. (Over) Table off the quarter.
Timeout%20054.JPG: Same move. Different Perspective.

Timeout%20048.JPG: Tony, Carving.

Timeout%20067.JPG: Tony, More Carving.

Here's a parting Fall Guy frame shot for all those who've been waiting:

Stickers, Photos, Movies, Stories

This past week has been dynamic.

Lots of rumors and bad information circulating about the status of my former employer. Safe to say the only new product that anyone had any interest in won't be showing up at your local bike shop anytime soon. I can say that with complete confidence.

The things I did for that place...

Anyway, Jonathon Allen(www.alenink.ws) took that photo.

Here are a few more:

Had a really fun Wendsday evening. Rolled to Salem with a large crew to ride a new indoor skatepark. Really dug this place. Very clever layout, great flow, and had Bad Brains on the juke box for a while when we first arrived. Very fun session. Ross Mccmaster owned a very "Arvey" like bank to wall feature. Some visiting Czechs rode well. Erik Johnson (www.stump503.com), Charlie and Knobjob, Paul LaClava, Harley..all rode well as usual. Everyone had a great time. Really enjoyed watching a local kid on a white S&M straight-up destroy the place. Huge, smooth and flowing.

From the skatepark we traveled to Aaron Lutze's house (www.matchvideozine.com) to watch his latest. Lots of great footage. I think Cam Mccaul's Evel Knevel style canyon jump was amazing, and Adam Hauck is very dailed. Too bad he couldn't have made it to the Gathering. Speaking of the Gathering, one of my favorite riders a that event, Sam Miller, just got sponsored by Union Street Bikes. Congrats!

Opening up forAaron was PDX local talent, Patrick LaValley. He put this movie together with 2 days of filming, and 1 day of editing. Download here: http://www.patricklavalley.com/video/grotto_med.mov

This video is cool because I think it's very well put together, and shows a couple very entertaining Portland area riding spots. BTW, some of those jumps at the end are 40+ feet!

I applogize to the indivduals currently waiting for Fall Guys. We've had a hang-up at the painter, and wanted to do a one time down tube sticker. This took a little extra time. Your bikes should ship next week, hopefully before Wendsday. Here's your sticker: xupcourier-7.jpg

The graphic is a small portion from an awesome pen and ink illustration that Tony's been working on, and a quote that I found.

That's all for now...
