No News, Good News?
Not a whole heck of lot to report on, besides slow and steady progress. Our lives are like watching paint dry, but worse smelling and harder to clean-up after.
Yelm, Washington.
Few cities on this earth have the confidence to proceed with a single syllable name. Rome for example doesn't toy with "Romeland", or "Romeville." Rome is simply Rome, former hub of the Roman empire. If you haven't heard of Rome by now, well, I'd wager we had the same high school geography teacher.
Yelm is another city that feels comfortable with a single syllable name. Yelm is located just outside of Olympia, Washington, and is at the moment most famous for being the hub of an religous cult called "Ramtha." Something I predict Yelm will soon become better known for is a new bar called "Bar Cinco." If you live anywhere near Yelm, check it out.
June Softies Jump Jam went swell, as per usual. Lots of crazy moves, good BBQ, and no crashes that people didn't walk away from. Guy Marsh returned to destroy the place. Huge, and flawless. Turn-downs, flatties, tuck no handers, always a treat to watch him ride. Local pros showed up to flip and whip everything. Maybe it's time for a back flip only jam? Call-it the "Flip-off?" Notorious BMX legend GJ showed up too, and guess what? Annihilated.
Kill, destroy, annihilate, detonate, blow-up, bomb, devastate: These are good things? Influence of the current administration?
What else? Fall Guy production is ticking along. We'll be taking deposits for bikes in the near future (2 weeks, max) and there shouldn't be a huge interval bwtween placing a deposit and receiving a bike in the mail.
Fall Guys are going up in price. The Fall Guy ridiculously expensive to build to begin with, and our cost of materials has gone up an average of 20% across the board from last year.
The good news is that they will come with headsets and BB's. They will be available as a frame/fork/seatpost deal that will be very good value for people.
Track bikes are still a ways off. Forming the chainstays has been no small task.
Now for photos:
Charlie wrote me and described this as "the coolest thing ever." I'm inclinded to agree.
