Andy Jenkins, y Otros

20+ years ago Andy Jenkins, Mark Lewman, and Spike Jonze transformed BMX from sport to cluture with Freestylin' magazine.

These days, Spike's career is fairly obvious, not sure what Lew is doing, while Andy Jenkins maintains a low profile, but as creative as ever. Andy is the creative energy behind Chocolate Skateboards, Crail Tap, and Bend Press. The above prints are available through Bend Press, and in my opinion, Andy Jenkins puts the "J" in Jenius. Here's cover from Freestylin' from August '86....if this dosen't stand the test of time, I don't know what does.

In more current news, Team Tonic Fab Pro, Guy Marsh concluded his Mountain Bike debut with "Most Creative Rider" at the Atomlab Super Sessions at Woodward West this year. Congrats Guy, and this is a glimpse at what you are capable of. Here's a clip of Guy in action thanks to BCD Racing.

Tonic Fab riders, Guy, and Billy Lewis, are central characters in the coverage of the Braun Wham Bam Thank You Jam which will be available for public consumption through Mountain Biking Magazine, Mountain Bike, Decline, as various "European Publications."

Speaking of Billy and Guy, are these incredible photos? Thanks Chris! I'm going to post these more formally later, but I just couldn't sit on these any longer!

In the mean time, enjoy highlights of the Braun Wham Bam Jam. Definately worth watching.

More Team News:

A recently confirmed new arrival to the Tonic "Bro Program" is Abbit Wilkerson.

I've seen Abbit ride before I knew him, and here's a funny story:

A few years ago at Whistler, I noticed a Grom pushing his (relatively) enormous bike to the dirt jumps. His stature relative the size of his bike made me think he'd be rolling though the beginner stuff. Much to my surprise, he proceeded to annhilate the entire place, far beyond anything I was capable of. Humbling...the old "book and it's cover" lesson.

Team Tonic is picking up some real sponsorship going forward, so expect a formal announcement once things are settled.

Soooo much going on. New products, new direction, as well as an event. March 6th, PDX, OR. Indoor Slopestyle. Contact me if interested in sponsoring or attending.

Sorry for the lack of real updates. Get ready for a couple new T's that you may really want to get yourself all up in. Introducing a T-Shirt in the middle of winter...sweet.

It's still going to be a while before we've got bikes to sell, but untill then, Peace.
