Saltos Escondidos 2.

The Dart Trails have become a traditional stop for all missions north. This incredible place was in rare form last week-end, a perfect place to get ready for what lay ahead...

Aaron's van never lacks "flair."

Perfect conditions. Lush. Never seen it soo good.

Paul, table over the hip.

Charlie. Putting tire to tail.

The "Baron". Floats silently through Dart.

Charlie. Oh yeah.

Collision.

This week-end, we encountered a collision of automotive history, color and Tonic Fab. Cory's an incredible Seattle area rider. Cory/Cory's car/Charlie's Bike.

Perfection is Imperfection

One of the better aspects of (the best even?) of having a company and a website are the people you encounter. Online or in person, I've certainly met a great deal of people I otherwise wouldn't have had the chance to.

One person to visit our site is the bike builder, Richard Sachs. His work is distictive, and highly regarded. Something which intrigued me about him is his motto "Perfection is Imperfection." He responded with a link to his blog.

Another person I've met through Tonic Fab is Chad. I've mentioned Chad here before. He's damn good on a bike, and damn funny in an e-mail. Anyway, Chad's had some s***luck recently and broke his kneecap. Get well soon. Here's Chad on his Fall Guy.

Bikes / Not Bikes

You'll find either nothing, something, or everything here inspiring on some level. That I can guarentee.

Banksy. More on Banksy.

Ross Measures. Beautiful shot. Wish I knew who took it. Most riders would need at least 6 feet off a lip to get this cranked. And they still wouldn't be this cranked.

Rick. Tabled at West Linn. Thanks for this. I can't wait to ride there again.

Sachs Beast. 2001 show bike. Less is more.

NW Spring

I was hoping to load up this entry with photos of some wild riding from the Oregon City Jam, but PNW spring weather shut the Jam down.

Here are a few photos from last week-end.
Yup.
Howie Drop Out.
Good X-up clearance. 175's are clear for take-off.
Paul stoked on his new rig.

Guy Marsh Q&A

If you are reading this, you know who Guy Marsh is. If you don't, he's the "Guy" doing a 3-Table above. Way above, actually! I'm stoked to have both Guy and Billy riding Tonics. Obviously both are amazing riders, but that's just one aspect of who they are. I figured it might be fun start off with a little Guy Marsh Q&A. Send me a question for a Guy and in a few weeks we'll publish the results. Bike check, favorite color, shoe size...it's all fair game. I can't promise everything will get answered, but we'll try.

Dart

Something about being broken makes having visitors even better.
Aaron and Paul stopped by on their way up to Seattle to ride the flowy Dart Trails. Aaron was riding my bike while he gets his new Howie together. Dart was running pretty well, and I snapped a few photos.
Aaron, over the hip.

Paul too.

Aaron. Nice boost over the hip again.

Enough of a warm-up. Off to Seattle to ride some crazy trails with Guy. Thanks for stopping by!

Grindstate Update

Shino, the man behind Grindstate, was hit by a car while on his bike in NYC. Here's an update on his condition via Vassilli:

"...he was hit by a car that ran a red light 2 days ago, and is at
the hospital. he's in stable condition, broken thumb and he possibly had
some internal bleeding, but seems to be fine. good spirits."

Send Shino some healing vibes.

Fall Guys gone. Again.

Wow. That's it for Fall Guys. The second batch is now spoken for. To the people decided to get one, thank you. Ride them untill the wheels fall off.

More Parks / More Fall Guys

New PDX area park, Glenhaven. Located on the ironically re-named "Avenue of Roses", 82nd Ave. I can't wait to heal...

Oregon City Jam this week-end. This is a small park, but soooo good.

A new park a little north of PDX is going in. Between this park, close proximity to MTB trails, and cheap property, Battle Ground is on the radar.

Guy on a pillar at B-side.

Although the last batch of Fall Guys sold out in record time, more Fall Guys are on their way. Here's a Fall Guy on our alignement table. Contact me to reserve one. These bikes will be ready in 2 or 3 weeks. Really appreciate the interest in these bikes, and I wish we had more, but this is just how it is at the moment.

Fall Guys..gone.

Wow. Current batch of Fall Guys are now sold out. A few will be going to Japan via Teisuke. The new green was the overwhelming choice, modeled here on a Howie Prototype. Speaking of the Howie...it survived our Animal Testing Program, and should be available late August. Don't worry, Guy's OK.

Fortunately, another batch of Fall Guys will be ready in about 2 weeks, depending on paint. Anyone who's wanted a Fall Guy; you've been warned. They do go quickly.

King of NY.

Vassilli is a NYC resident and Fall Guy rider who's recovering from an ACL replacement. Here's a photo of Vassilli and his bike on what has to be one of the most stylish and wildly constructed bike sites on the web, Grindstate.

Vassilli, Fakie at the Brooklyn Banks.

Quick reminder: Fall Guys are available, and this will only be for a short time. Get one while you can.

Mint Week-End / Fall Guy pre-order.

Spent the week-end in Portland. Saw a very good friend off to Alaska, a new Portland Skatepark, a small heard of Fall Guys, and a New Color for Tonic Fab.

Reaming the seat tube on a Fall Guy in the Lathe. Fall Guys have been machined, aligned and are ready for paint. If interested, contact me to put a deposit on a bike.

New Green on a Howie Proto. Fall Guys will be available in either this green, the baby blue, or grey. Check out the finish on that yoke...Like the Howie, the Fall Guy gets a lot of love in this area too.

A great photo of someone who made an impression on me as a very unique individual, Billy Spaceman. Yes, Billy rides a rare Tonic Track Frame. Photo by Drewish. Check out some more of Drew's work here.

Rad to Random

Just a quick udate on the war...Current price tag of our efforts just exceeded 500 billion dollars today. Think about that for a minute.
In no particular order:

Guy Marsh
made it across the border for Jordie's Jumpathon and had a great time despite some un-co-operative weather. Some coverage of the event and some sweet photos of Guy goofing around here.
Some sweet photos here.

Abbitt sent me a couple pics of himself and Brent riding some trails. They first showed up on their mountain bikes and got kicked out. So, they returned with their 20's and got down to some riding. ? Anyway, really, really nice riding fellas.

How about this banger? Billy Lewis, courtesy of Flatlander. Billy goes to school full time and works so riding time is precious untill June (he's taking summer quarter off.) Here's to pulling it all off..

Finally, transitioning from the rad to the random..."Little" Jeff Landtiser. I rode Pier Park before I got hurt and got a few photos of Little Jeff on 4 wheels.

Whatever happened to Inertial Storage Transmissions? Clearly, it's powered this van for quite sometime. Possible solution to our energy crisis?

Thats all for now.
