Friday / New Stuff.

Not much happening. Buried alive with work. Be patient wanters of Tonic Fab things. Material is on it's way, and from material comes material goods.

Gravity Video of Helter Belter via Aaron Lutze/Patrick La Valley.

Go to this:

Greg sent some photos of the frame he's working on. What can I say? Looks fantastic. He's using a very clever seat post clamping device. Hopefully he'll get plenty of time on it this winter. Even if it's indoors...

On the topic of new bikes, here are a couple of things from Interbike which stood out to me:

Mongoose looks dialed. Kickin' butt on the vert!

Odyssey is dialed. George French is one of the smartest people working with bikes these days.

I'm getting one of these seats for my road bike. Now, if I can only find a large, flesh-colored water-bottle to stick back there, I'll be set. Sweet!

Kick it.

Animal Banks Jam last week-end. Great photos here. Fun to go to this someday.

Eastern Front has all kinds of news everyday. Here's one of their desktops. Jimmy Pratt getting after it:

Iggy Pop and Peaches. Iggy can still out-weird and rock with people half his age.

Guy's B-Day

Happy Birthday Guy!

Flips / Filled Blanks.

Pierre is going to school to learn about mining. If you are comfortable with explosives in tight spaces, then I guess bike riding is a snap.

Pierre gets busy on a grass bank on his Fall Guy.

Nice euro out of a quarter.

I was hoping some people would "fill in the blanks." Here's one Tim sent in. Thanks. I'm sure somebody out there can relate to this.

Fill in the Blanks.

Thinking. Sometimes it's harder to do than other times.

Anyway, Hot Animal Machine was Henry Rollins' first solo album after Black Flag. I always thought it had an interesting cover. Here's a blank version of it.

European Vacation...

Walter Mayerhofer from Austria sent some amazing riding photos my way. No one in these photos is riding a Tonic, but who cares?

Finally, this clip from Jimmy Pratt is just the best...UK Trails.

Belter Metal

People made the Helter Belter, but some nifty metal got some attention too.

The New Fall Guy. Same formula as before, just less of it. 14.25" stays, and a shorter seat tube. You can still slam a small seat if that's your thing. Everyone who rode it really hated it. Win some, loose some...

Up Close and Personal with the new Fall Guy.

Fall Guy Drop-Out.

G-Sport Hub on the Fall Guy.

Amos gave me a ride in his "truck."

Tonic Fab Salutes

The Helter Belter was incredible. Amazing riding, but more importantly, amazing people. Tonic Salutes everyone who decided to show-up and blow-up, but in particular:

Amos and Tim. Incrediblely kind and amazing people. Amos owns Dirty Booger, and Tim owns the incredible indoor bowl. True Buddhas.

Brennan Britton. The creative force behind Building the Undergroud, one hell of a bike rider, and decided to show up at the Helter Belter. Thanks.

Aaron, AKA the Baaron. A smooth explosion. Can't seem to get a decent photo of him because he's riding at warp 10, and my camera only goes to warp 9. Did Major Work to make the Belter happen.

Charlie, for putting himself into orbit over the first real jump. Like the Baaron, a Major Reason the Belter went off.

Random Friday

Just a random mix of photos from the past week...

Abbitt paints his bike. Again.

There's an abandoned Nuclear Power Plant on the way to the beach...creepy.

Dex from Cali sent this up. Word. Kid is good.

Billy. Damn.

Slitting saw action.

Raya. Walking Raya again is going to be awesome!

Raya's Mom and ethnobotanist, Megan, is leaving for Africa next week. We'll miss her.

20 years ago Public Enemy had Too Much Posse. Now P.Funk and The Baaron have Too Much Bar (for one little car.) All Time Lows are a tight fit.

Tough Love

Guy Marsh from last week-end. Recovered?

Earlier this summer it was Stephen Murray, Adam Perez, Chester Blackfield now Tara Llanes High profile riders getting seriously hurt, not mention the countless "unknowns." Tonic Fab sends out healing vibes to those hurt doing something they love.

It's a dangerous sport kids. Be careful.

WK Interact / Wing-P /SuperCo.

I've been absolutely buried with Helter Belter essays!

Now for some truth. WK Interact. A plain and powerful statement about the war.

Perhaps one way to slightly offset The American Diplomatic Lawn Dart is to show the world how many Bitchin' Bike Parts are made on these shores. Here's a few examples I stumbled upon ordering some Profile bits the other day..

First, a brief history of the Profile Crank. Remind 'em we can do good things too!

If these don't turn those frowns upside down, I don't know what will. Profile Track Hubs!

What's this? Profiles' disc brake BMX hub. Profile rescues international BMX disc brake riders from the land of "where the hubs have no name." Our hat is off to you Profile Racing.

Finally, I expect the international community will grow to love friends of Tonic Fab, SuperCo..

They don't have a website yet, but they've got it where it counts..really good bikes!

Helter Belter

Less than one week away. I'm meeting up with Portland Trailbosses Aaron and Charlie to "supervise" getting this location dialed in.

It's on private property, so the number of people riding has to be limited.

If you are interested in attending, just send me one of the following in addition to a legit photo of yourself doing a table top:

-A 200 word essay entitled "Why I Deserve to Ride at the Helter Belter."

Or, if writing isn't your thing:

-Your best illustrated copy of the following:

Harley is now Atomic.

Friend of Tonic Fab, Harley, is now getting flow from Atomlab. Congrats Harley!
Enjoy this photo of Harley putting the hip to work at the Infamous Dart Trails while Tonic teamster Aaron looks on. Photo by the obviously talented Nick Brandreth from NJ Dirt.
