Egg Sandwich.

No riding photos this time.

I'm still really digging on our Super Sessions video. Really proud our team. Stylish, smooth and genunine individuals. I'm glad we are able to make bikes good enough for these guys to ride.

Speaking of teams, here's the coolest team website I've run across. Super-Relax, desde PDX. Word.

On to photos and captions:

The Egg Sandwich. I made this one after an incredible hike last Saturday, and it was 15 minutes of bliss.

Tony's toolbox illustration. Detail shot. One of his best, although my favorite is still a work in progress.

Raya. Dogs make everything better.

A really cool photo from Walter. Really, really like this one.

This fixture weighs? About 110% of what the average man can lift. Getting this onto the table is no easy task.

Tight fits. Horrible in an elevator..brilliant in a bike frame.

Another shot of Capt.Kirk's Howie. Almost makes me want to ride 26's....almost.

Loads of Headtubes and BB's. All Howie's from the first batch are Mid-BB.

When's Chaz's parent's Prius wouldn't start, P.Funk reminded the world of another type of "hybrid" power..pushing.

Top-Tubes. With Caps.

Word, and Felize Nueva Anos..

People Get Together

Tommorow morning, I'll hop into my 20 year old swedish brick and make the 3 hour journey to my parents house for x-mas. It's easy to get upset/distracted by things which are really only tangentially associated with this time of year when the only things that really matter are connecting with people and looking forward to an entirely new year.

The fellow on the left in the photo above is a young man named Taylor Scott. Taylor was good friends with the guy on the right, Aaron, AKA "The Baaron." Through Aaron, I was lucky enough to meet and hang out with Taylor at Whistler last summer.

A couple weeks ago, Taylor was killed in an automobile accident. Who knows why things like this happen? For those who didn't know Taylor, or haven't experienced the loss of a friend, this tradgedy is a reminder to simply appreciate your company over the holidays and the time that you have. R.I.P. Taylor Scott.

Here's an example of people getting together. So-Cal Boost Machine, Pedro, sent in the above photo of his local trails which are up for getting plowed. He rides at the infamous Hidden Valley. You can help the cause by signing a petition to try and save a place which is so important to so many people. Petiton Here.

Peace,

Landon.

Loser by 1/50 Sec. and Super Sessions Photos

While P.Funk's "Super Bird" is of questionable pedigree, his bikes are a different matter entirely.

With gas prices soaring above $3/gallon, P.Funk's rigid "Mopar or No Car" philosophy has forced him to become one of Portland's most competitive bike commuters. Every green light, a sprint. Every bridge crossing, a time trial. Even the slightest uphill is an opportunity to crush his fellow commuters. P.Funk dropped by our shop last night to show off his new Fall Guy which clocks in at a little over 24lbs. We'll do a bike check later.

Dedicated bike commuter and Slayer listener. P.Funk is certainly listening to this over the Holidays. From HTATBL.

Speaking of light bikes, here's an old product that's new again. The Uni Seat. This has to be lightest seat/seat post combo you can buy. Made in Oregon. Who will be brave enough to try it?

Finally, Super Session photos and video from the talented Nick Brandreth at NJ Dirt.

We'll be taking deposits for the first batch of Howies shortly.

He also sent this incredible photo too. Wow.

Tonic Fab in a Museum. What?

Any lover of vintage BMX Iron knows about the online BMX Museum. I consider this website to be a legit catalog of bikes which would have otherwise been lost to time. It's a gold mine for bike geeks like myself.

Gary, the Museum's owner, decided to add Tonic Fab to the brands cataloged at BMX Museum. This came as a complete surprise, and I'm honored to have Tonic included in this collection. The bike photographed belonged to a co-worker. We modified the front Tuff to run a 20mm Thru Axle, and and I'd date this bike as a late '04..basically one of the first production Fall Guys made.

Grom-Power

When you pass 30, anyone under 20 is a grom. The older I get, the more I appreciate Grom-Power. I just can't believe how good Abbitt, Looch, Chaz and the Baaron are and how much fun they have. Word-Up.

Abbitt and Looch. Distracted.

Looch on Elevation.

Lunch.

Chaz, The Baaron, and Looch. Freeriding?

I've seen both photos and film from SuperSessions, and I'm convinced: Looch Rules.

I'm also convinced more people can do front flips than turn their bars away from the landing while whipping. Abbitt, style black-belt.

Image is Everything.

More of the same. Some random photos to substitute for anything interesting to say.

On the topic of photos, how about a few good ones?

Cory Tepper. Local PDX guy who's very talented.

Nelson Mouellic. He's good. Especially to those intersted in cities. He seems to take photos of things I'd take photos of, only 1000% better.

Nick Brandreth.
Kid is Super Talented. His work is featured on Atomlab's site.

Probably the most fun I had riding in 2007 would be the night before the Wham Bam Thank You Jam in Portland. Team Tonic Fab went on a late night mission with Peanut that ended up at Brunside. Along the way, we met a random fellow by the name of Thrash who wound up taking a few damn good riding photos. Here's Peanut doing something pretty cool:

One person who's consistantly sent me great photos is Walter Mayerhofer. He's from Germany, and it looks like they've got one hell of of a riding scene there. Yes Walter, we'll reserve a Howie for you if you'd still like one when they are ready..

The Spanglish BB. Getting these made has been like pulling teeth. Fortunately they are in process. If you ride Profiles, a euro BB, and a MTB, this is The Joint.

Here's Jeremy from Norte Carolina piloting his Fall Guy through some trails.

Finally..Deus Ex Machina. They build Hot Motorcycles.

Cheers,

Landon.

Super Session pt.1

Here's a few photos of Nathan riding his Fall Guy at Super Session.

Want to be the guy whining about riding a mountain bike in a skate-park? Me neither.

I think Nathan's got the right idea: Ride Everything.

Random Photos

Just a few random photos...too busy at the moment for the usual fiction.

This is the last of the old Fall Guys. It's going to Australia, and is built really, really nicely. Here's a Profile SS hub with an Aluminum Axle, 3/8" bolts, and Tonic Fab step-down washers. If you want light, this is it.

From the Helter Belter. What a fun day that was.

We make our own dedicated fixtures for each model. Here's one for the Howie.

Pollution does have one up-shot: Great Sunsets!

3 Days in Oregon...

With the Baaron, Chaz, and P.Funk. If this doesn't make you want to ride...nothing will.

Tonic Supersessions Update:

Charlie broke a thumb and a wrist.
Billy is riding with Electrical Tape around his elbow.
Looch, Abbitt, and Nathan are killing it. Grom Power.
