"Can’t make the jam, I’m in China getting ready to race the bmx worlds. We practiced yesterday, and the track is amazing..whew, I’m getting nervous just thinking about it..!."
Here's Scott on his race bike getting busy at Lynwood. Notice how big this jump is? Notice how good Scott is? The worlds track sounds heavy.
Walter from Germany checks in with this neat-o photo.
What's better than coming home from a long MTB ride and dicovering a Mexican Feista blowing up across the street with the best food ever? Nothing.
A new Fall Guy caught in a moment of domestic bliss. We still have some available from this batch, so jump on it!
Got these in the mail yesterday. Holy smokes. I can't believe I'm to be trusted with equipment like this. Custom Ti hardware? Yikes.
Worth more than my car. With a full tank of gas!
Abbitt and Norm from last summer. Looking forward to seeing these kids this week-end.
Nick Halsey at Elevation. Too bad this won't be at Whistler again.
"What up yo? Been riding a ton lately. Had soooo much fun at the shovs Jam, Tonic Fab was repped tough by all. Pretty sure we are the only mtn bikes allowed at shovs. It was the best. Chaz and Badassaaron killed it. It was sooo amazing to ride and even better to watch. Abbitt has been out at the park with his cam a bunch. He snapped a couple neat ones, hope you like. Nathan and I are getting stoked for the jam, gonna be soooo much fun."
Tony and Seth and I did some park and dirt riding yesterday. Seth was breaking in his new bike, the Small Guy. It's a very trick ride. Nearly everything is custom. Cranks, pedals, fork...we'll do a proper bike check soon.
Japan is nuts for bikes! A degree to which I am only begining to understand. TKC send over this link. It's an english wrap-up of this zany track bike meet in Japan. Check TKC's flickr here. There's also a Japan-Only yellow Howie lurking around there...
First off, good luck to Team Robot. They will be rolling the dice in New Mexico this week-end.
Abbitt and Looch train.
TKC took some photos of a coated Fall Guy. This process rust-proofs a frame inside and out. Except where you might scratch though it. Anyway, there's quite a bit of variation with regard to how these frames turn out. Some folks will love this, others won't. If you don't appreciate some variation in your frame color..don't go for this. We cannot control how this finish looks.
A little closer. I think this is great looking, but others may not.
Photo stolen from Goods. Little Jeff. This ain't so little.
Missed out on what sounds like an amazing trails Jam in Seattle..oh wells. At least my garden has a lot fewer weeds in it.
Hopefully Aaron and Charlie returned with some good infos and no hurts.
Abbitt is outta the snow, and onto the dirts. He'll be down for our jam, and that's good news for fans of Good Riding.
Here's a little detail about track frames I think is more than a little important to looking right. I can't wait to get some proper photos of the Supernaut.
Fall Guys. Available in a few weeks. Then not for a while.
Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes - Thoreau
Damn good on a bike, and a very unique individual. Looch is Golden.
That said, I'm going to use Looch to draw attention something I don't understand about racing. The clothes. What is it about racing that requires such radically different clothing? Maybe it's the psychological advantage afforded by a cordinated, synthetic outfit? Just thinkin' out loud.
Every team has a few small rules. We ask our riders to match their underwear with their saddles. It's a small detail, but it looks soo much better in photos. Looch with a proper tuck no hander.
Here's Looch again. Same bike, wearing a special racing outfit, en route to 2nd over-all in Dual Slalom at the last Fluid Ride race.
Here's my final "bike check." I'm getting a new bike soon, so here's the final version of my rig. Not much has changed over the years..tires are probably the biggest difference from when I first set the bike up.
Damn near 5 years old..Yikes! I'd say my bike is set-up fast and loose.
My bike is covered in all kinds of sweet prototype decals. Like this woodgrain set.
I've got a few nice parts on it. Thomson stem. Can't go wrong there.
Profile Madera Rear Hub. I drilled/cut down/chamfered the axle. That's my "mod."
Disobey Face.
My brake lever is pretty sweet. I "rawed" the end of it with my finger.
Oh yeah! Bikes and Dogs and Dirt.
A little street ridin'.

Posting 2 Ninja videos in 2 days? Ninja Terminator.
An absence of fresh riding photos or anything to say bike related.
Well, hold that. Thanks to everyone who decided to get a Fall Guy from this first batch. Those went fast.
We've got another batch that should be ready to go at the end of this month, so if you are thinkin' about it, and you read this blog, you know what to do. Send me a deposit and color choice. Ride a Fall Guy to work, and it'll pay for itself by 2012. Or I'll eat my hat.
Speaking of bike sales..we still have a Dukes of Chazzard Orange Howie without a home.
What else...we are making a small run of Supernauts. Crazy to imagine this, but each one had a home until know. Unfortunately one of those homes has encountered some unexpected medical expenses, and now a Supernaut is available.
Enough sales pitches. On to Random Thoughts.
"HIGH CLASS, if you ain't rollin, bypass If you ain't holdin, I dash yo.."
Freeride is a strange term. I really don't know what it means..it's an "everything and nothing" label.
For riders like P Funk, Freeride is all about the the B's: Bowed-Legs, Back-Wheel- Landings, and his favorite pro rider, Bobby Bourdin. Or was that Bender?
For myself...? I like riding XC, and doing some jumps along the way. I ride a light bike, with clipless pedals, and the crotch pad in my shorts is the only "armour" I wear.
Anyway, Post Canyon has a lot to offer. You can pedal around all day, ride some stunts, or not, shuttle, or not, and just have a fun day on your bike. I guess it's mostly considered a "Freeride" area, but it can accomodate a huge variety of riding styles and abilites. Take a couple minutes and fill out this survey if you ride here.
You've seen Nathan's riding here before. I'm really looking forward to seeing him ride at our jam.
NICE! Sweet table.
We put gyro tabs on Quebec Fred's bike, and judging by this photo..they work! What's up with those two having a cell phone session while the sun is out and there's a park to ride? Probably talking to eachother.
