Billy + Nick / Eugene / Politicin'

Hey first off..

Thanks to everyone who decided to buy a Tonic Fab this month. Somehow we had a killer month despite all the terrible news about the economy, our still non-op new website, and our typical customer's upcoming spending spree on Halloween costumes and "candy." It really means a lot to Tony and myself. Thank you.

Good news from Los Tonics Billy and Nick. Billy is riding again and riding well at that. Also, Nick sold a photo to Woodward..this photo of Billy is the cover of Woodward's MTB camp brochure. Con-grats fellers. Now, if only Woodward could make Billy and instructor..hmmm?

What else?
Ryan and Dan have a couple things in common. They both ride (big) trails, they both live in Eugene Oregon, and they both ride Tonic Howies.

Wow.

These aren't small jumps..I think this is Dan.

Ryan with big moves. Thanks for the photos!

Next week is Votin' time! The debates really helped me decide who to vote for. Just kidding! Thanks for sending this over Chris!

French Connection / West Coast All-Stars

Howdy. Did a massive XC ride this week-end. Of course I forgot my camera which sucks for the creation of compelling Blog entries..anyway, it was good. Fall colors and soil conditions reminded me why I got involved in bikes with multiple gears and suspension parts in the first place. 16 miles and Raya charged it the entire way. Not bad for a puppy nearly 8 years old. Missed a get together at Amo's place as well as a Skatebarn happening.

Tonic Fab french connection, Gaeten, getting DOWN.

Completely unrelated, The West Coast All-Stars. One of the guys I rode with last week-end is a DJ, and we had a good talk about all things music related.

I used to have the single for this joint. Kind of a high water mark for this era, as well as many of these artist's careers. I mean, Tone-Loc actually sounds completely Bad-Ass, Digital Underground is incredible, as is Ice-T, Def Jeff and NWA. Michel'le sounds she might have taken a helium hit before the session, but JJ Fad is beyond Supersonic. Easy-E closes this out properly. Yeah.

Blah, Blah, Blah..

T-Mutha F-in'-F

That's right..one more day of delaying all the other rad riding photos I have.

I missed a banger..The Baaron and Chaz had a Jam last week-end. Grown-up stuff got in the way, but it sounds like an incredible day. The Baaron doing what he does best....going very, very fast. Photos by P-Function.

Looch, Daniel (did what no man has done before..cleaned Aaron and Charlie's on the first run) and the Baaron. All riding Howies.

Alfred on his new Supernaut. From here.

Alfred did this promotional flick with Hutchinson Tires. If anything it showcases what a complete bad-man he is on a bike. He's not riding his Tonic, but if riding a big company bike for a day is part of what it takes to make this happen, then f-it. Alfred, we salute you.

From this blog. Mike Giant. Man, this guy has some cool work.

Quick Photo and Video

Howdy. Something that's happened over the past month is that folks have sent me loads of photos of themselves riding their Tonics. Sorry about being a little slow to get these up.

Drew outta Colorado floating though a rather large set on his Howie.

Walter out of Austria sent this video in. Love to ride the spot that's about 1 minute into this. Good stuff.

Show-Time?

Oregon Manifest is a show we participated in last week-end. We had a great time and met loads of good people. I was really, really stoked on the event. Too busy to have expectations. Somehow I think I got some decent photos out of the thing.

Tony's job at the show was to get the attention of well dressed, older men who had enough discretionary income to roll out of the show on a Supernaut or cross bike.

Tony's commission for selling a Supernaut? A large doughnut.

For some reason this was incredibly funny to me.

The Tonic Fab Space Program. Billy Spaceman arrived from SF with his Pink Tonic.

Prince Valiant? Try Chevil. Dan Chevil.

He brought the extremely rare and weird 2nd Jon Wayne album.

Tony chowing down on a Bacon Maple Bar.

The end of the show. Whew...

Seth's bike was a hit among the kids.

Yeah, out stand was basically a big, furry "T". Another thing kids loved.

Fortunately it was easy to pack up.

After this show, it was onto another one. The Rapha 'cross sprints.

Dylan V doesn't ride a Tonic, but he's an honorary Team member. He roped me into doing this race, and "bagged" our bikes. He had a pretty good wipe out in this race.

Here's how the race went. You sprint your ass off untill the dial finishes. Then you grab a Zoo Bomb bike and try and ride/run around this building. People are spraying beer at you, and the concrete floor is very slippery. That's me on the left.

Running through the building.

Tony and Ian discussing doughnuts.

That's Ian's beau, Bridgette getting wild on the right. This stuff got heated.

Billy Spaceman taking a pull.

That's it.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by. I'm glad I got to meet some blog readers, and I'm sorry we didn't have any Howie's or Fall Guys there.

Cheers,

Landon.

Craming / Carving

Howdy.

Congrats to Cory Tepper and Los Tonics for getting video of the day on Pink Bike. I'd award that video with a slightly longer term.

Anyway, some bad news I'm sure everyone who reads this is already aware of. Hugely influential Fit Bike Co. rider, Mike Aitken has suffered a severe head injury.
You can read about his situation here.
I'll have more on this later.

For the moment...
We are going to attend a bike show this week-end. It's called Oregon Manifest, and..well I don't know what to expect. All I know is that we will be running around last minute to get somethings done, and we have a couple nice / new bikes to show off.

Midnight Oil. Not the band. I'm sure I'll be forced to listen to Gordon Lightfoot's Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald about 20 times tonight. If you want to hear some good music, check out Australia's The Black Ryder. They don't have an album out yet, but I listen to this all the time when I'm computin'.

Shiny bits for one of the new bikes. Disco lighting.

Who else made their own drop-outs on a rotary table for this show? Sometimes I wish we could just be like everyone else. But that would be boring.
There's no Tonic without "Toni."

This isn't exactly "news", but this sequence is about one of coolest things I've seen in a while.

Cheers, loud music, fun, fur and card-board.

Team Robot / Los Tonics

Take a walk in another man's shoes.
Talented lensman, Cory Tepper, put this video together of PFunk, Chaz, and the Baaron riding their trails and going down hill, really, really fast. I really dug this and I hope you do to.

Lady is the Boss

Video Part of the year?
